TGS and Chicago Gaming United team up for NBA2king an epic high school NBA2K tournament.VANCOUVER (BC) the 29th of September. 30 2020/CNW/ TGS Esports Inc. and Chicago Gaming United have teamed up to create an exciting NBA2K tournament for Chicagoland high-school students. The top players in each division will be awarded academic scholarships.

"School is not just about education. It's about sport, friends and, most importantly, finding a community. TGS CEO, Spiro Khouri, said this pandemic has highlighted to teens how crucial these connections are. "Esports have filled the void and the entire world was in the midst of a slowdown. This tournament will unite children from all over the city into one event.

The tournament will have an Xbox and PlayStation division. PlayStation and Xbox division, and will be played online on the weekend of November 7-8 and November 14-15. The final stage, featuring an Elite 8 in each division to be played on the weekend between November 21 and 22. The event will be streamed live via TGS' Twitch channel. TGS will organize the tournament and offer professional production and management for the tournament.

A portion of the proceeds will go to three charities in addition to the scholarships. These include Cxmmunity which focuses on increasing the participation of minorities to esports; Beyond Sports foundation, which aims to translate athletic talent into real-world opportunities; and That Harper Kid, a foundation started by Linnae Harper, former Chicago Sky guard, to help local children.

Several Chicago area basketball legends from high school have also pledged their support to the cause and include Jahil Okafor, Kendrick Nunn, Quentin Richardson, Darius Miles, Tim Hardaway, Deon Thomas, Hoop Dreams stars Arthur Agee and William Gates and Chicago high school legend Linnae Harper.
